Game and quest-based learning

Have just reviewed Lisa Dawley's presentations on game and game-based learning.  This intrigues me - not so much in the technology used - but rather in the reframing of the idea or primary assumptions underneath/behind learning: it's all a game.  The way we've structured education now is based upon a game as well with a whole other set of rules and guidelines.  Interesting that this game has lost its luster... yet these games are emerging as viable pedagogical methods.

Plus - I always make it a point to keep tabs on Lisa's work.  She and her colleagues at Boise State seem to be on the cutting edge of educational technology these days.
